Parent Code of Conduct
The mission of the Bow MarS Sharks Swim Team (“BMSST”) is to develop confidence, self-esteem, and sportsmanship through the performance of recreational team sports, while promoting physical and moral character development to all participants. To ensure the appropriate atmosphere for these activities, BMSST has adopted a zero tolerance policy in the enforcement of the Parents’ Code of Conduct.
I hereby agree to and pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in activities of BMSST by following this Parents’ Code of Conduct..
- I will demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
- I will not interfere with coaching at any time during practice or meets.
- I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
- I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other swimmer for making a mistake or losing a race.
- I will support coaches working with my child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
- I understand and acknowledge that the coaches have the ultimate say in who swims on which relay team, and they take multiple factors into consideration when determining relay teams. A swimmer's attitude at practice and/or attendance at practice can and will be used to assist the coaches in defining the ultimate relay team.
- I will fulfill all my volunteer shifts per swim family during the regular season.
- I will fulfill additional volunteer shifts at Prelims and Finals as necessary.
- I will further abide by the RMSL Parent Code of Conduct which states that I will:
